Nestled on the vibrant upper Bree Street in Cape Town, Aperitif opened its doors in September 2023, bringing a taste of the Italian and French aperitivo culture to Cape Town.
Founders James Williams and Emma Jane Fuller created Aperitif because they both share a love for the European tradition of pre-dinner drinks and light bites while enjoying the gentle bustle from street-side tables.
Despite Cape Town’s renowned culinary scene and perfect climate, the aperitivo culture, so beloved in European cities, has been notably absent. We saw this opportunity and jumped in, creating a concept that not only stands on its own but complements the city’s renowned restaurant culture.
Aperitif is an elegant yet understated aperitivo bar where you can enjoy a stylish and relaxed space for a quick catch up with friends, a romantic date, or simply take a little time out for oneself. With its exposed brick walls, combined with marble-topped tables, crystal decanters and fresh flowers, Aperitif exudes an irresistible charm.
